About
When you strike up conversation with a new acquaintance, the first thing most of us ask is "
So, what do you do?"
Our jobs and working lives are a part of our identity. They can make or break our happiness, finances, wellbeing and time. It seems only fair, to want to pursue a job that fits in with your priorities and future plans.
I have been a Careers Adviser in Sheffield for over 20 years and I live and breathe anything to do with the world of work.
My career search began when I found myself commuting from Sheffield to Manchester to a job that I had begun to resent. It seemed like I was stuck in a dark tunnel and couldn't find a way out.
I wanted to make a difference to others, but also enjoy a fair work life balance. I made a leap from working in insurance, to helping long-term unemployed people get back into work. From then on my career has progressed to where I am today. I've never looked back.
If you'd like to have a chat about your job, get in touch. I would love to hear from you.

"I cannot praise Jill enough, I was extremely nervous prior and she made me feel at ease straight away. The session helped me to outline the direction I wanted to go and the steps I needed to do to get there. If it wasn't for our session, I wouldn't have had the confidence to enrol on courses that will help me to change my career path."
James Eardley
"Jill offered constructive criticism in my personal statement to UCL to do a Bespoke Tailoring degree. The course was extremely competitive and I didn’t have any idea how my personal statement could impress the Course Leaders above my competitors. I am dyslexic but this hadn’t been diagnosed at the time. Jill was super patient and after several failed attempts I was able to put into words why I wanted to do this course. I now have my own label in Vancouver."
Fiona Walker
"Jill helped coach me through a job interview I had for a music leadership role. She was thorough and methodical in her approach, as well as encouraging and she put me at ease. I was successful in getting the job."
